The English Department of Manarat International University (MIU), having started its journey with the classes of the fresher batch on the 7th of June 2003, has always been a small but lovely family and has been functioning with two consecutive programs: BA and MA in English. The standard of education and admission to these programs follow the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. There are nine full-time faculty members, three Associate Professors, five Assistant Professors, and one Lecturer, working as the academic strength of the department. All our faculty members are highly skilled in their respective academic expertise, with national and international exposure to research involvement. All the faculties of this department are fully committed to their job responsibilities and solely dedicated to their students. Almost all are engaged in pursuing higher studies in reputed Universities at home and abroad. We believe our students as the main assets and true ambassadors of the department and the University. We have a well-settled group of Alumni scattered in different parts of the world, leading their professional lives with dignity. Our graduates and regular students are very much inter-connected with a strong bond relating to the department. The department is also keen to ensure the academic and professional growth of the students. Apart from the regular classes, updating the syllabuses from time to time, ensuring quality books in the library, managing digital resources, hiring expert academics and renowned professionals to lecture the students, arranging different skill-based workshops for the students and separate training for the faculties, and organizing vibrant extra-academic and co-curricular events are the regular features of this department. The English department of MIU always encourages visitors, guests, guardians, and prospective students to visit both the campuses in Gulshan and Ashulia to interact and exchange views with our faculties and students and help us contribute to building the nation.
