Associate Professor Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam is the current Head of the Department of English and Proctor (In-charge) at Manarat International University (MIU), Dhaka, Bangladesh, with an active teaching career of around twenty-one years. He also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and Government Eden Mohila College, Dhaka, and also as an External Consultant for Translation and Quality Assurance with the International Labour Organization (ILO), Turin, Italy. He was a Seminar Speaker on Communication Skills for the Flying Officers of 74 BAF Course at Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA), Jessore, and a Training Speaker on Presentation Skills in the Applied Epidemiology and Public Health Management (AEPHM) Fellowship Course (a program of US CDC and LGRD Ministry, implemented by Save The Children and SafetyNet) in Dhaka, respectively in 2018 and 2022. He is an Ex-Cadet of Rangpur Cadet College (CCR), and later, he received his BA (Hons) and MA in English Language and Literature degrees. As a researcher, he has twenty-five research articles in different international journals (Google Scholar, ORCiD, Plubons, Academia, ResearchGate, ResearcherID), seven conference papers (int’l: 06, national: 01), and forty-four citations by international researchers (Google Scholar: 11, h-index: 04, i10-index: 02). He is a regular thesis supervisor at MIU and a writer on the Cadet College Blog. He is also doing his PhD in the Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR) at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on the dissertation titled “Women in the Novels of Jane Austen and Sharat Chandra: A Comparative Study.”
