Currently, Muhammad Afsar Kayum is an academic staff (Assistant Professor) at the Department of English of Manarat International University. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree with honors from Jagannath university college under National University securing the 4th merit position in 2005. He obtained M.A. in English from Jagannath University securing the 1st merit position in 2007. At present, he is a Ph.D research fellow at the Department of English of International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM). Previously, he worked as an adjunct faculty at Jagannath University in 2008 for 1 year, as a full time faculty at Dhaka International University (DIU) in 2008 for 6 months & as a part-time faculty of English at IIUM, Malaysia in 2017 for 1 semester (5 months). He has eight published research articles & a few conference proceedings. He attended in 1 national and 5 international conferences as a paper presenter. In the Department, he teaches the courses of literature, linguistics and Research Methodology for B.A and M.A learners, and also supervises M.A. students in writing their Thesis. His administrative works include his work as a batch advisor in every semester & as a program coordinator for 2 years (2014-2016) at the Gulshan Campus and another 1 year (2018) at the Ashulia Permanent Campus.
