SOFT SKILLS FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP ORGANIZED BY MIUEC

A day long “Soft Skills for Career Development” workshop and training program was organized by the MIU English Club in collaboration with the Department of English at Manarat International University (MIU) on 29 October 2019 in its permanent campus auditorium in Ashulia. The purpose of the workshop was to increase the necessity of soft skills development among the learners. A session titled “PRESENTATION SKILLS AND IMPROMPTU SPEECH” was conducted by the Resource Person Mr. Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam, Associate Professor of English at MIU. Mr. HR Nirjhor Hasan, Founder, and CEO of English Patshala was the guest speaker who conducted a very inspiring session on “DEVELOPING EFL SPEAKING: FLUENCY AND PRONUNCIATION” and answered relevant questions of the audiences. Mr. Asad Khan, Lecturer in English, MIU and Convener of MIU English Club conducted a session on “SOFT SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATIONS: WORKPLACE CHALLENGES”. Mr. Nazmul Haque Shiblu, Assistant Professor of English at MIU conducted another remarkable session on “BUILDING YOUR DREAM CAREER” which was mesmerizing to the audience.

Mr. Md. Hafizul Islam Mian, Treasurer & Vice-Chancellor (Acting) was the Chief Guest of the program. Professor Dr. M. Korban Ali, Campus In-charge of Permanent Campus in Ashulia and the Dean of the School of Engineering, Science & Technology was the special guest in the program. The program was presided by the Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities and the Head of English Department, Professor Hemayet Hussain Khan. Besides, the faculty members of different departments together with the Department of English was present in the workshop. Public Relations Officer Mr. Rafiqul Amin was also present in the program. Radio Today, The USBD Times and Hello-Teen were the media partners in the program. Around 200 students joined the program spontaneously.
